Washington Drawings: Abe to Zoo

This book represents two loves — the love of drawing and the love for Washington, DC. Drawing has been an integral part of Dhiru’s life since he was a young boy, and his passion for the city of Washington started 50 years ago. In 2021, during the second year of the pandemic, he began making drawings to capture some of his favorite places and moments in the hometown of his adulthood. Twenty-six of these pen and ink drawings are included in this publication, one to represent each letter of the alphabet. Each drawing is accompanied by text that describes the subject matter and offers insights into architecture, urban design, sustainability, equity, and beauty.
